I’ve been sitting on this for a few days now, just waiting until I have some time. Tomorrow we’ll look at the repudiation of Trumpism that we saw in Virginia and New Jersey. But right now, I want to tell you about a little boy named Jacob Thompson.
Jacob was diagnosed with neuroblastoma (a cancer that usually affects young children and starts in the nerves) when he was 5 years old. Today he’s 9 and the cancer has spread to his hip as well as his head. He and his parents are afraid that this will be his last Christmas on this earth. So far, chemotherapy has been unsuccessful, and time is running short. On their GoFundMe page, Jacob’s mother acknowledged that her son may not make it through the month. Saying:
Roger and myself have been told that we should be spending as much time as possible with him and we should start making arrangements for his passing.
If you’d like to make this last Christmas unbelievably special for this little boy, send your cards to him. Address it to:
C/O Maine Medical Center
22 Bramhall Street
Portland, ME 04102
It would mean the world to him and his family if he received as many cards or recordings of carols as possible.
I know that mine will be in the mail soon.
