China Tells Trump to Simmer Down His North Korea Threats

By Tiffany Rodgers

Just in case you missed it, let me draw your attention to something the Chinese President has said to our egotistical leader. You would think that if you were inexperienced in your position that you would gladly and eagerly take advice from experienced leaders. This of course does not apply to Trump. Trump already knows all (that sentence is dripping with sarcasm – can you hear it?)

China’s President, Xi Jinping, has urged Trump to refrain from “words and deeds” that could further escalate the North Korea situation. Finally, an adult has arrived to the table.

Only time will tell if Trump will heed the advice from Jinping. One can only hope.

Xi goes on to call upon “relevant parties to maintain restraint.” He strongly suggest that the US should “persist in the general direction of dialogue, negotiations, and a political settlement.” China does not want North Korea to have nuclear weapons either.

It is almost as if Trump does not understand how to take suggestions. Perhaps, while Trump was on the phone with Jinping, all he heard was the same sound as when the teacher talks in Charlie Brown.

Let me get this straight. Right after their phone call Trump is singling out North Korea once again. However, Trump’s statement does take a slighter lighter tone this time. Trump says the following:

Cooler heads must prevail. Both sides, America and North Korea, need to take a step back and reexamine any and all rhetoric that escalates the situation. We must get these two “Man-children” to pull back and negotiate in all aspects of this situation.

The artistic example above is unfortunately spot-on in showing the discord we have right now. If we could just encourage these two to step back, relax, and take a deep breath. The only solution here is diplomacy. If we start blasting nukes at everyone who gets under Trump’s skin…well, we will not be here very long.

Hey Trump – a little hint – military action is supposed to be a LAST resort! It is never to be used as a bullying tactic. Do not play Russian roulette with American’s lives.

Sarcasm, satire, and snark just seem to spew from my being. I may not be everyone's cup of tea, but who can refuse coffee? ?
