Another Round Of Golf?

By Andrew Witzel

So, President Trump is on vacation officially the next week or two. He’s announced on Twitter that he isn’t going to really be on vacation and will be taking calls and having meetings. Setting aside the idea that taking calls is essentially having a meeting in most cases, it seems odd that he would feel it necessary to tell everyone that despite him being on vacation, he really isn’t on vacation. What’s the point of that except to cover up the fact that he really has no idea what he’s doing?

I’ve been in the Information Technology industry for over 20 years and have seen and heard it all at this point. The IT guy that says he’s really busy doing things that really aren’t tangible is a red flag I’ve learned to pick up on. Making the excuse that you’re really busy with “meetings and calls” translates into “I’m not doing anything of real value but want to make you think that I am.” Any normal person following Trump will have realized by now that he’s kind of winging it as President and six months in hasn’t really planted his feet on the ground. The man needs a vacation to get a break from the constant pressure of keeping up appearances that he’s doing the job the American people elected him to do. He can’t seem to stay away from Twitter though, a fact that only makes things worse.

Here he is taking credit for the economy doing well. It actually does “just happen”,

His love of social media where he indirectly ignores approximately 205 million Americans not on social media or choosing not to follow him,

His constant denial of multiple polls where his favorability is declining or remaining low and stagnant,

A competent and capable person in the job they’re hired to do wouldn’t feel the need to overcompensate with constant self-patting of their own back. They would just do the job without regard to highlighting their achievements until there was an achievement to celebrate. Trump hasn’t had anything close to an achievement since he took office and continues to schedule rallies (worked for campaign, not working so well now), take credit for things he has no direct input or control over and denigrated the media for focusing on the negatives of his job performance. Denigrating the media for doing their job doesn’t work, just take a look at how well that worked out for Nixon.

Donald Trump, take a break from Twitter and get to the important stuff, like running the country. Stop blaming everyone around you and take a look in the mirror to see the root cause of your problems. Just grow up and maybe, just maybe, the other 60% of the American people who don’t like you will start giving you the benefit of the doubt.
