Newsweek’s New Lazy Boy

By Tiffany Rodgers

The person(s) who created the new Newsweek cover is pure genius! If a picture says a thousand words – this one is screaming those words!

Let’s take a moment to analyze this masterpiece! I would like to point out the headline: Lazy boy! If you have read any of my previous pieces, you know that I am constantly calling Trump a man-child. I guess Newsweek agrees with me on this one.

It goes on to say that Trump is bored and tired. Trump has exclaimed that he is working harder than he ever has. He has also stated that he wishes he could go back to his regular life (I say…go! Resign! We do not want you here as much as you do not want to be here).

Here is a short list of Trump’s achievements:

  • Six months in office
  • 40 days at the golf course
  • Zero pieces of major legislative

This next thing just adds to the truthfulness of Newsweeks’ cover…lazy boy! Trump is leaving on a nearly month long vacation! You read that right! Mr. Critical of Obama’s vaca time, is indulging himself!

Remember when he was campaigning:

At a Michigan rally in March 2016, for example, Trump told the crowd, “Obama likes relaxing and going on vacations. Me, I like working. I like working. I really do. I like it!”

Then there are the countless tweets trying to guilt Obama for his vacations:

I think someone is a bit hypocritical! No surprise here though! Trump has not worked a day , a true day’s work, in his life. Just having to use his brain daily wears this ol’ man out! He is not used to using it that often! Now a quote from my favorite movie, Tommy Boy, just for Trump. “It’s called reading-top to bottom-left to right-group words together into sentences-take tylenol for any headaches-midol for any cramps.”

Sarcasm, satire, and snark just seem to spew from my being. I may not be everyone's cup of tea, but who can refuse coffee? ?
