Give Us a King!

By Oletta Branstiter

President Trump just appointed his daughter and son-in-law to new government posts, violating U.S. Code 5, Section 3110. This statute reads: “A public official may not appoint employ, promote, advance or advocate for employment, promotion or advancement, in or to a civilian position in the agency in which he is serving over which he exercises jurisdiction or control any individual who is a relative of the public official.”

It seems that Donald Trump isn’t satisfied with a mere Presidency. He is taking his ascendancy to a whole new level.

Didn’t we fight a bloody, seven-year war to wrest our independence from Monarchy? Are we still so enamored with royalty that we still yearn for a King?

Like the Israelites of old, does human nature continue to rebel against the liberties guaranteed under the rule of law? Instead of being governed by morality under the merciful hand of the King of Kings, we, like the Hebrews, demanded an earthly King to make us like the other nations. (1 Samuel 8:6)

In a disturbing response to the Freedom Caucus thwarting the RINOs American Health Care Act, many Americans are actively campaigning for a national, single-payer health care program. “Give us Socialism, like the other countries!” they cry. Dramatic examples like Cuba and Venezuela fail to convince and deter them from the fallacy that America could make socialism great again.

Apparently, tyrannical policies, like universal mandated health insurance that distorts the Commerce Clause and violates the 10th Amendment doesn’t go far enough. After the plutocratic debacle of the Obama administration, We the People put our dirty little hands out asking, “Please, Sir, we want some more.” More executive actions, please. More socialist mandates, please. More disregard for the rule of law, please. More monarchy, please, Sir.

Instead of turning away from the tyranny of autocracy, we’re begging for more! Who needs the rule of law under a Constitutional Republic, when we can have a Trump Dynasty?

According to the Jerusalem Post, President Trump has established a new executive office for his daughter, Ivanka, and her husband, Jared Kushner, to rule. They’ll be running the office of American Innovation, assisting in resource development. Trump’s royal descendants will “look to giant tech firms and CEOs in order to adopt new ideas” for reorganizing our government bureaucracy.

Who needs a system of three branches of government laboring under the rule of law, when we can utilize the same methods that built the Trump Empire? Isn’t this why we elected him? We’re done with politicians and statesmen. We wanted a successful business magnate! But why stop there?

We’ll just pretend his aspirations don’t reveal any fascist tendencies as our new President enthrones his family into positions of power to rule our government with authority, glamor, and flagrant wealth.

Now, we can bask in the glow of a Trump Monarchy.

It’ll be majestic.

  1. Right from the first, I observed that Ivanka was not satisfied with being the daughter. She really wanted to be the first lady and she pushed until she is in but she doesn’t belong and they are breaking the law to make it happen. Can you do anything Mr. AG Sessions?
